There are so many twists and turns right up until the end it'll leave you weepy at the fact the next book isn't out till 2021!!! I cannot give away any plot here, as it's something you really must experience yourself. The side characters threaten to overwhelm at first given their rapid and frequent introductions but ultimately result in a cast of characters that you will route for all the way, Igby and Malachai being particular standouts. ![]() We explore this setting through the eyes of Luka Kane, a flawed and very relatable YA protagonist who keeps you engaged as the mysteries of the prison and the world around it begin to unfold. This book is mostly set inside a prison known as the Loop, where inmates are subject to torturous conditions and crippling loneliness. I'm happy to say that this book has met these expectations and then some! Many books have claimed to be 'the next Hunger Games or Maze Runner' but few can actually meet that hype. ![]() A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole7/4/2023 ![]() ![]() Her relationship with her Grandma was sweet and I wish it had lasted longer in the book because I enjoyed the time they were talking. ![]() ![]() ![]() I really liked that the love story pretty much started started at age 8, I loved that it didn't matter to either of them what others thought unlike most YA books and I loved that the parents are on their side. I was expecting a very sad depressing ending but honesty it was depressing for more than 2/3 of the book and I need a lot more happy to feel the love and connection so that the sad will hit me the way this book hit others. No teenagers would react to things the way these 2 did ( well maybe him during his angry time). I had a very hard time connecting with these characters and at first I thought it was because they were so young but I quickly realized that was actually the opposite, I had a hard time with them being 15-17 in most of the book but they acted and talked like the were old. I think it was too much like another famous book with the same story line because I compared them throughout the book even though I was trying not too. I'm not saying it was bad or anything like that so please don't take that the wrong way. Maybe I was expecting amazing because I was told by many that this was the book that affected them the most. Sadly I think I am in the minority on this book. ![]() Unite me book series order7/4/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() he was born in a small city somewhere in Connecticut and currently resides in Santa Monica, California, with her husband, Ransom Riggs, fellow bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, and their young daughter. It's the beginning of a tangle that Harry is sure will turn deadly for him and his friends if he does not figure out the underlying politics. Then Mab, the deadly Winter Queen, calls in the second of the three favors he owes her - she wants him to rescue crime lord Johnny Marcone, who has been kidnapped, and again he does not know why. A hard winter has fallen on Chicago, and in the middle of it Harry is attacked by goat-like creatures who he later discovers are the Summer Queen's enforcers - why he does not know.
